ARSENAL VS SUNDERLAND – THE SEASON START HERE (UPDATED)

Arsenal v Sunderland
Barclays Premier League, Emirates Stadium
Saturday, February 20, 2010, 15:00
Favourite line-up Andimazlan.com tetap memilih Fabianski sebagai penjaga gol walaupun dikritik hebat minggu lepas. Teramatlah sangat perlu!
Di bahagian tengah, Song as a Def. Midf. Fabregas dan Nasri bahagian centre. Wallcott sebagai winger kanan. (Walcott lari laju gila babi pun tak guna bai kalau control bola tunggang langgang!) But still we should give him this chance. Rosicky di bahagian winger kiri.
Bendtner tolongla cekap sikit maintu. Setakat berlari dan tanduk bola aku pun boleh! Vela or Eduardo should be considered IF Bendtner not on target in the first half.
Prediction : Arsenal 3 – 1 Sunderland.

UPDATE : WIN 2-0 BUT FAR FROM IMPRESSIVE!
Credit should go to Eboue for the first half goal scored by Bendtner. Now that we see what Sagna lack of that he failed to bring in his game lately – good pass or crosses to the opposition box.
Despite a clean sheet, Silvestre should check himself after the game that he almost cause us a goal by letting Jones a clear-cut one-on-one chance with Almunia.
Second half start, we dominated the game, almost 99% possesion of the ball but not a single big threat made to Sunderland goalkeeper until the last minute penalty came. What was Bendtner doing? Walcott running like hell but never made a single shot-on-target! Ridiculous! I think Wenger should consider playing Vela soon or lets try put Vermaelen upfront at least he got the instinct to score a goal. (Bagus juge free kick mamat ni tadi tapi kalau atas sikit lagi gerenti goal punya)
Bad passes! Even Fabregas can’t passes properly at this game. Same goes to Ramsey (what the hell with the long shot, mate?) and Nasri. We have the possesion because Sunderland play so poorly tonight. Jones and Bent unbelieveable and unforgiveable miss when one-on-one with Almunia summed-up Sunderland team performance in this match. Still Arsene Wenger have the guts to say ‘The team responded well today’. The free-kick awarded to Sunderland at the end of the second half was a real ‘cut-a-red-or blue-bomb-wire’. Luckily it hit the wall.
However we should be happy. Man Utd lose to Everton 1-3. Never looking back and keep the momentum going. But our performance last night was still far from impressive!

Considering our last 4 matches I opted for Eboue instead of Sagna at the right back. Nasri and Rosicky both at left and right flank to support Bendtner. Predict Porto 0 – 2 Arsenal.
TAYANGAN MALAM INI : GROUNDHOG DAY (1993)
Aku malas nak tulis panjang. So aku quote pendapat kawan aku tentang filem ni. Kira kitorang satu kepala la.
What do we gain from watching this movie? Different people will take away different things from it. I discovered two very important truths in Groundhog Day.
One was the importance of concentrating on the things that last. Phil Connors must live the same day over and over again, and is forced to realize that the only real change that will ever be possible must happen within himself. (From this it is a short leap to the realization that this is the only kind of change that really matters; for in his case, it is literally true.) It is at this point that he takes up piano, begins reading, learns to ice-sculpt. But if it weren’t for his unique predicament, he never would have realized this; in his routine at the TV studio back in Pittsburgh, we surmise, there was always something changing…and not changing. (It is interesting that Phil is a weatherman: the weather is a perfect metaphor for something that changes constantly…without, in the long term, changing at all.) We can be distracted by the superficial changes in the world around us, and forget that real change in our lives must come from within. This was the great gift of Groundhog Day for Phil Connors: the chance to discover this truth for himself.
The other thing I noticed, while reflecting on this movie, is how uncertainty can keep us from charitable acts. We use our ignorance like a crutch: we don’t give to charity because it may be a scam, we don’t offer to help someone because they may not need help anyway, and so on. But Phil doesn’t have the luxury of ignorance. He knows…he knows with absolute certainty that if he doesn’t buy the old man a bowl of soup, that man will die in the streets within a few hours. He knows that if he isn’t on hand at the right time, a boy will fall from a tree and break his neck. Faced with such knowledge, even Phil, self-absorbed as he is, cannot stand by idly. Nor could we, in his position. This is a powerful argument for knowledge as the most reliable foundation for generous behavior. What other movie can offer an insight half so profound?

WE LOSE 1-3. THANKS TO ARSHAVIN AND ALMUNIA

WE LOSE 1-3. It is a total blow for the team losing to Man Utd by 3 goal down in just 60 minutes of playing time. With so much anticipation of what we have through over the past few weeks, bouncing back from the 3-0 Chelsea defeat all the way to the top of the league and now we are back to our CONSISTENTLY INCONSISTENT or INCONSISTENTLY CONSISTENT tag.
Vermaelen’s goal merely a consolation goal and can’t undone his terrible performance together with the Arsenal back four Glichy, Sagna, Gallas and the worst of all Manuel Almunia. What we lack in the defense unit is discipline and coordination and we were caught every time Man Utd counter-attacking us. It’s a real horror watching Vermaelen and Gallas join the attack every time we won a corner or free-kick and then STRUGGLE to went back to fill their marking position again. Nani, Rooney, Park and Scholes was always have so much room and was handsomely played their attacking moves with so much speed for which our back four lack of last night. Man Utd second and third goal can be prevented if Vermaelen and William containing instead of pressuring Man Utd attacking moves.
Sagna and Clichy, I don’t see any contribution from these two players other than make wasteful run by the line and then cross the ball only to find Johnny Evans or Michael Carrick. I don’t see the necessary of crossing the ball high into Man Utd penalty area unless we play Bendtner from the start.
However nothing good can be said to the level of Arshavin’s performance last night. I can say he is the main culprit for the team not scoring first since we start the match quite very well. The first 15 or 20 minutes is belong to us and Man Utd seem unable to match our fluidity of controlling and holding the ball. Arshavin was so selfish where almost three to four clear chances was wasted by him because he eagerly wanted to score by himself instead to pass the ball to the teammates. Even though Shava playing as our lone striker I don’t think the manager has asked him to imitate Nistelrooy or Owen style of play – shoot whenever you got the ball!. Don’t you see the faces of Nasri, Rosicky and Fab out of frustration to the commitment shown by Shava in this match, do you?
The injury of Diaby and Ramsey come untimely for this crucial game. With Song just come back from The African Nations Cup and still struggling with his fitness level and Denilson’s (is he play last night?) so-so performances all together put a huge burden on Fabregas’s shoulder to mechanics the centre field.
And Almunia, what is wrong with you? You cost us the first goal and almost double it with you heroic stunt! And what with the serious face you put throughout the match. Is it concentration face or nervous breakdown face?
Next Sunday it will be Chelsea and then Liverpool and then the others. We should win all the games.
And like the manager said..
We have to focus on delivering a completely different performance because today we were never close in our marking and you do not win big games like that.
And for me all the remaining games now is a BIG GAMES. Period.
Oh.. how I miss Alex Helb.
